Coercive Control and Safety.
Coercive control by the perpetrator of

that predominant aggressors can and
do perpetrate against primary victims

Waipapa Taumata Rau University of Auckland. She
has published widely on restorative justice,

restorative justice schemes.
Restorative Justice – Unpacking the Opportunities and Challenges
Unpack, discuss and reflect on key
issues within restorative justice
concepts and practice, including
core values and concepts, the
challenges of the RJ facilitator

violence.

keep yourselves safe.
Donny Riki
Donny is a Māori psychotherapist of Ngāpuhi and
Ngāti Paoa descent. Her critical analysis of violence
is informed by 500 years of collective indigenous
resistance, whakapapa wisdom and her clinical
experience as a psychotherapist. She has presented
these wānanga in Canada, Sweden, and Australia ,
and stands in solidarity with other indigenous
nations against genocide.
Mana-informed RJ practice
In this wānanga Donny emphasises
mana as central to social life and
well-being, by shifting the lens
from Western benign trauma-
informed approaches, and
discusses on-the-ground social
justice practices of resistance.
